We believe all young people deserve the chance to thrive

Tomorrow's Enterprise Foundation is a non-profit created to give all young people access to meaningful opportunities in life by bridging the gap between education and employment.

Our key principles

Enable all young people to thrive regardless of their academic achievements.

Reduce the number of young people not in employment, education or training (NEET).

Provide engaging education for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Close the national skills gap.

Inspire and empower the next generation of purpose-driven entrepreneurs and business leaders.

Champion the concept of 'business as a force for good'

Influence public policy to create long-lasting system change

Brighter futures for us all

Investing in a young person's preparedness for life improves the overall health and wealth of the individual and their community.

Research from the Youth Employment Group over the last five years has shown that early access to essential skills and enterprise education can dramatically improve social and economic outcomes for young people by improving their readiness for life beyond school.

Furthermore, supporting young people to make a difference through becoming entrepreneurs can strengthen their community in the long term by creating jobs, attracting investment and revitalising economic activity within the region.

Connecting communities to create sustainable solutions

We believe that impact is most achievable and effective when the different parts of the community work together. This is why our enterprise programmes are  shaped and delivered by key stakeholders within each region.

We work with young people, educators, business leaders, employers, regional Chambers of Commerce, Local Authorities and other non-profits to create programmes tailored to the needs of the region. These partners don’t just drop in: they co-create the experience. â€‹

This joined-up approach offers young people the opportunity to connect with and feel valued by their local communities.

Unique learning environments

Our practitioners are expert coaches who encourage students to develop new skills and expand their knowledge. We use trauma informed language and create extra space for students to process information and regulate their emotions.

Our classrooms are safe spaces where young people can express themselves freely and experiment with new ideas. There are no tests or examinations and success is determined by the students themselves.

Students are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and explore the limits of their own abilities. We introduce tools and techniques to help our students discover more about their own strengths, passions and interests and help them identify the working environments in which they're most likely to flourish.

Working towards NEET zero

There are currently one million young people not in employment, education or training (NEET). Our ultimate goal is to help reduce that number to zero.

We prioritise regions of multiple deprivation - the forgotten towns of the UK where hope and opportunity are often in low supply.

We have had particular success with those young people most at risk of becoming NEET - this includes disengaged young people, those living with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, those from low-income families and those from underrepresented communities.

Starting my own business changed my life. Now, I want to give young people the same opportunity

Enterprise is more than just business, it’s a mindset for life.

At its heart, enterprise is about thinking boldly, acting creatively, and staying curious. It teaches young people to identify challenges, embrace failure, seize opportunities and engage meaningfully with the world around them.

Embedding enterprise education into a young person's learning journey enables them to unlock a world of new, exciting and purpose-driven opportunities. It sets them on a trajectory towards a happier, more fulfilled and more prosperous life.

But right now, the UK education system isn’t keeping pace with the needs of a modern society.

Too many young people are leaving school without the skills, experiences or networks they need to thrive in today’s fast-changing world. At the same time, employers are struggling to find and retain young talent with the skills that matter most — problem solving, teamwork, communication, and curiosity.

This disconnect is even greater for those students who don’t thrive in traditional, rigid academic school settings. It's exacerbated further for those who live in areas of low economic activity - areas where opportunity is often just out of reach.

It’s clear - we need a new approach. That’s why we created Project Can Do.

Designed for young people living in areas where opportunities are often in limited supply, Project Can Do provides practical, project-based learning that builds real skills, unlocks potential, boosts confidence and creates meaningful connections with local employers across a wide range of industries.

Students aren't simply learning about business and enterprise, they're discovering what they’re truly capable of. They're gaining the tools to develop resilience and encourage curiosity. They're developing a sense of purpose and self-esteem, and meeting inspirational local role models who can guide them on their journey.

They're finding out what makes them tick — and just how far their talents and tenacity can truly take them.

Whether their future lies in starting a business or thriving in a career full of purpose, Project Can Do gives young people the head start they deserve and helps to build a brighter future for all of us.

Tomorrow's Enterprise Foundation

'Tomorrow's Enterprise Foundation' was inspired by the work and values of Tomorrow's Company

Tomorrow’s Company is an independent, pioneering not-for-profit think tank. For nearly  thirty years, it has  been bringing business and society together to address some of society's greatest challenges through research, innovation, advocacy and collaborative action. It has a track record of impact which is described here.

In 2020, Tomorrow's Company set about reinvigorating the teaching of business with a view to inspiring a new generation of purpose-led entrepreneurs, business leaders and employees.

Their first enterprise education programme was the 'Applied Business Module'; an eight-week programme of theoretical and practical enterprise education for first year business undergraduate university students. This programme was co-designed by The University of East Anglia and continues to be delivered there to this day.

In 2023, working with leading businesses and educators Tomorrow's Company took the framework of the Applied Business Module and developed a pioneering enterprise education programme designed specifically for secondary school students. This programme was  named 'Project: Can Do'.

During 2024, the pilot programmes achieved great success at a number of schools around the UK. Each student who graduated from the programme, and each of the academies and businesses involved,  were as invited to contribute ideas to improve the content, and so the initial concept programme was further improved and expanded into the programme as it exists today.

In 2025, Tomorrow's Enterprise Foundation was launched as an independent not-for-profit organisation, operating under the guidance and support of  Tomorrow's Company and its Advisory Board, and introducing a host of new team members to help deliver the programme around the UK.
